Eid Milad-un-Nabi Celebrated with Seerat Conference and Procession in Jersey City

New Jersey: In the US state of New Jersey, a Seerat conference and procession were held today, August 31, 2025, in honor of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). Jersey City, home to a large Muslim population and numerous mosques, boasts a Pakistani American community of approximately two hundred thousand people. Each year, the community organizes a Seerat conference, Milad, and a procession to pay tribute to the Holy Prophet (PBUH), demonstrating their devotion through heartfelt gestures.

During the event, flowers are offered in honor of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), and participants express their reverence through the recitation of Naats and Qaseedas. The life and teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) are shared, particularly with the younger generation, to instill love and respect for his exemplary character and teachings through various events from his life.

The Milad Committee of Jersey City organized a grand parade and Seerat conference today, attended by Pakistani American community,the members of Legislative Assembly, local law enforcement and notably, former Governor McGreevy. Former Governor McGreevy paid a heartfelt tribute to the Holy Prophet (PBUH), speaking eloquently about his glory. He shared a historical incident regarding the personality of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), which left the audience in awe. His devotion and love for the Holy Prophet (PBUH) filled the Muslim community with immense pride.

Similarly, Dr. Chaudhry addressed the gathering, emphasizing that the personality of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) serves as a model of morality for all humanity. He urged the audience to discuss the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) character as much as possible and to follow his teachings diligently. Another prominent figure, Imtiaz Syed, captivated the audience with beautifully narrated incidents in praise of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). He encouraged the younger generation to reflect on the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) life not only annually but at every moment, morning and evening, by sending blessings and greetings in his honor and following his path.

Today’s gatherings and processions were a powerful display of unity, discipline, and understanding. They served as a lesson in patience and tolerance, bringing the community together in a shared expression of faith and devotion.Food and refreshments were served after the prayers .
