Brussels : A dignified moment unfolded last night at the immigration hall of Allama Iqbal International Airport when the Federal Interior Minister and the Minister for Overseas Pakistanis conducted a surprise visit. The purpose of the inspection was to review the performance of the FIA immigration staff, operational standards, passenger facilitation, and the measures in place to ensure lawful and safe travel, especially with regard to preventing human trafficking.

During the surprise arrival of the ministers, FIA officers — including young officer Owais Safdar — were fully engaged in their duties, diligently assisting passengers and personally attending to the needs of overseas Pakistanis.

The ministers reviewed two offloading cases in detail during the visit. Both decisions were declared fully justified, lawful, and in complete accordance with immigration rules and procedures. Acknowledging the professionalism of the staff, the ministers also awarded cash prizes to the concerned officers, a gesture that greatly boosted the morale of the team.

Throughout the inspection, all immigration counters remained fully operational, the hall maintained complete order, and all processes continued smoothly. After the visit, officers from various airport departments individually praised the FIA team for their well-organized, calm, and highly professional handling of the inspection.

According to the FIA Immigration team, it was an honor to be on duty during such an important visit. The team reaffirmed its commitment to performing its responsibilities with honesty, discipline, and excellence, ensuring safe passenger travel and the prevention of human trafficking.

Overseas Pakistanis also appreciated the facilities provided at Lahore Airport and commended the services of FIA officer Owais Safdar, noting that he has consistently served the public with dedication and brought pride to Pakistan. They also praised the ministers’ policy of conducting surprise visits, stating that the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation, the Ministry for Overseas Pakistanis, and the Interior Minister are patriotic and committed to public service.

They further expressed satisfaction that even before the ministers arrived, FIA officers were already present to assist passengers and resolve any issues on the spot. Overseas Pakistanis remarked that such dedicated officers are a valuable national asset and deserve encouragement from the government.
