Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Emphasizes Peace During Diplomatic Mission

Bureau Chief

Islamabad May 21, 2025 – In a press briefing following a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari addressed the media regarding his upcoming diplomatic mission, which aims to visit major capitals around the world. He firmly stated that Pakistan’s stance is clear: the nation desires peace not just in the region but globally. However, he emphasized that sustainable peace can only be achieved through serious resolutions of longstanding issues such as the Kashmir dispute and terrorism.

Bilawal pointed out that no other country has suffered from terrorism as much as Pakistan has, and he reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to completely eradicate it. He noted the recent escalation of conflict between two nuclear powers following a terrorist incident, underscoring the necessity of resolving fundamental issues through peaceful means.

The Chairman expressed concern over India’s use of water as a weapon, which he deemed alarming and insisted it should be highlighted before the international community. He remarked, “India stands in a vulnerable position by weaponizing water,” and compared it to the global condemnation of Israel’s tactics in Gaza and Palestine, where food is used as a weapon.

He cautioned that if the Kashmir issue remains unresolved and water becomes a new point of contention, future generations may find themselves embroiled in yet another dangerous conflict between Pakistan and India. “It is unfortunate that since 1947, both countries have been at odds over the Kashmir issue. We must not allow water to become the spark for the next war,” he stated.

Discussing Pakistan’s broader diplomatic agenda, he affirmed, “We will communicate our message to governments, parliamentarians, media, civil society, and most importantly, the people of the world. When two nuclear powers are involved in conflict, the repercussions extend far beyond their borders, affecting the entire globe.”

Bilawal thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their comprehensive briefing and acknowledged their responsible and proactive role during the recent crisis. He remarked, “When we address issues on a global scale, we will present the truth and Pakistan’s peaceful intentions. This decision to send delegations abroad is indeed a positive step.”

He recalled how Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif promptly offered a neutral, international investigation when India leveled false accusations against Pakistan, an offer that India rejected due to its narrative being based on lies. Bilawal stated, “In this conflict, Pakistan has not acted aggressively but has only defended itself, and that too responsibly.”

The Chairman highlighted that this is not merely a bilateral issue, as the international community and global media have recognized Pakistan’s responsible behavior. “We stand for truth and peace, while India is propagating hate and division,” he noted.

Bilawal concluded by saying, “The path of enmity is unacceptable. What you are calling the ‘new normal,’ we cannot accept. The Pakistani people and I believe that the majority of the Indian populace also desires peace.”

With these statements, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari aims to not just promote Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts but also to foster a message of peace and cooperation in the face of ongoing tensions.
