High-Level Libyan Delegation Visits Pakistan’s Army Headquarters

Islamabad: Today, Field Marshal Khalifa Belqasim Haftar, who serves as the Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, accompanied by H.E. Dr. Osama Saad Hammad, the Prime Minister of the Libyan Government, paid a formal visit to Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.

The discussions between the two sides centered on shared regional security challenges and opportunities for enhanced professional and military collaboration. Both parties highlighted the value of sustained dialogue and joint efforts to promote stability.

Field Marshal Asim Munir extended a warm welcome to the visiting dignitaries and reiterated Pakistan’s firm dedication to deepening bilateral ties with Libya. He expressed Pakistan’s ongoing support for efforts aimed at achieving lasting peace, security, and stronger institutions in Libya.

The engagement took place in a warm, positive environment, underscoring the enduring friendship and cooperation between the armed forces and governments of Pakistan and Libya.

Prior to the meeting, upon their arrival at Noor Khan Airbase, Field Marshal Haftar was greeted by Field Marshal Asim Munir. The Libyan leader also paid tribute to Pakistan’s fallen heroes by laying a wreath at the martyrs’ memorial at GHQ.
