The Consul General of Pakistan in New York, Mr. Aamer Ahmed Atozai, attended as Chief Guest a landmark cultural event titled “For the Love of God!” at the historic Town Hall, New York City. The event marked a historic first — the presentation of Pakistani artists by the legendary Town Hall in its hundred-year history.
In this unique cross-cultural collaboration, Pakistan’s world-renowned qawwali ensemble Ustad Fareed Ayaz and Abu Muhammad Qawwal Brothers shared the stage with acclaimed American gospel group Chorale Le Chateau. Produced by Vagabond Media in collaboration with The Town Hall NYC, the event drew around a thousand enthusiastic audience who braved severe weather to attend. The concert highlighted the deep connections between Qawwali and Gospel music — both expressions of faith, devotion, and transcendence — and presented an inspiring message of peace, love, and human unity.
Speaking at the occasion, Consul General Aamer Ahmed Atozai congratulated the artists and commended The Town Hall and Vagabond Media for hosting this visionary collaboration.
“We are deeply proud to see Pakistan’s celebrated qawwals, Ustad Fareed Ayaz and Abu Muhammad, make history as the first Pakistani artists ever presented by The Town Hall,” said the Consul General. “Their music embodies Pakistan’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage, inspiring harmony and understanding across borders.”
