Islamabad – Pakistan’s Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan stated that India escalated tensions, pushing the region toward war, but Pakistan’s swift and decisive response proved its unwavering commitment to national honor and dignity.
Pakistan’s Strong Military Response
During a media briefing, Khan highlighted that Operation Banyan Marsus was launched in retaliation to Indian aggression, resulting in the downing of six Indian warplanes. He emphasized that Pakistan’s armed forces demonstrated unmatched capability in defending the country’s sovereignty.
Ceasefire Achieved Through Diplomatic Efforts
The spokesperson acknowledged that the ceasefire was made possible due to mediation by friendly nations, whose role Pakistan appreciates. However, he warned that any future aggression would be met with a forceful response.
No Comments on Afghan Defense Minister’s India Visit
When questioned about reports of the Afghan Defense Minister’s secret visit to India, Khan declined to comment, reiterating Pakistan’s policy of non-interference in other nations’ affairs.
“We respect all countries’ sovereignty and expect the same in return,” he said, stressing that regional peace depends on mutual respect.
Pakistan Advocates for Peaceful Solutions
Khan reaffirmed Pakistan’s stance on peaceful conflict resolution but cautioned that Pakistan reserves the right to protect its territorial integrity. He also called for balanced diplomatic engagements, referencing recent visits by European ministers to both Pakistan and India.
