London Overseas Convention Marks a New Era – Qamar Raza Syed and Afzal Bhatti’s Services Highly Praised

The Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) successfully organized its second major Overseas Convention in London, with the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, as the chief guest. The event received widespread appreciation from both the Pakistani diaspora in the UK and those connected to Pakistan globally. Its success was widely attributed to the relentless efforts, vision, and leadership of OPF Chairman Syed Qamar Raza Syed and Managing Director Afzal Bhatti.
In preparation for the convention, Chairman Syed Qamar Raza Syed and MD Afzal Bhatti worked tirelessly, contributing their expertise and experience to ensure smooth management of all affairs. They also made extraordinary efforts to engage overseas Pakistanis from across the world, which transformed the convention into a historic and memorable gathering.
OPF Board Member Kamran Khan, along with leading members of the well-known charter company KBM London, Khalid Bhatti and Salman Khan, also played a pivotal role in organizing the event. Their professional handling of security arrangements, invitation management, and overall protocol received warm appreciation from participants.
Addressing the convention, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised OPF’s efforts, calling overseas Pakistanis “the true asset of the nation.” He acknowledged OPF’s role in bringing Pakistanis abroad closer to their homeland by uniting them on a single platform. The Prime Minister assured that his government would continue strengthening OPF and take all necessary steps to resolve the issues faced by overseas communities.
Throughout the convention, hundreds of attendees expressed deep admiration for the leadership of Syed Qamar Raza Syed and Afzal Bhatti. They lauded their dedication, noting that since the two took charge of OPF, overseas Pakistanis have experienced a renewed sense of enthusiasm and confidence. Community members emphasized that they now feel reassured that their concerns are being heard and that there is genuine leadership standing behind them.
Pakistani High Commissioner to the UK, Dr. Mohammad Faisal, was also commended for his active involvement and tireless efforts in ensuring the convention’s success.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Syed Qamar Raza, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi, and other dignitaries told journalists that OPF remains the only institution sincerely dedicated to serving overseas Pakistanis. They reaffirmed the government’s commitment to making OPF stronger and more efficient so that the issues of overseas communities are addressed promptly.
Leaders further emphasized that OPF’s initiatives would have far-reaching impacts, strengthening ties between Pakistan and its overseas community, while also supporting the country’s economic growth and enhancing Pakistan’s global image.
Participants also applauded the contributions of KBM London’s team and other organizers, recognizing their round-the-clock efforts in making the convention a resounding success. Community representatives pledged to remain engaged with OPF and continue strengthening the institution, enabling overseas Pakistanis to play a more active role in Pakistan’s development journey.
The convention concluded in a spirited and passionate atmosphere. Attendees raised slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad” and applauded enthusiastically, vowing that overseas Pakistanis will always stand firmly by their homeland.
Renowned personality and business tycoon Mr. Zulfiqar Ahmed, while giving remarks, said that fruitful results have emerged from today’s convention and new remarkable avenues will open for overseas Pakistanis. He said that the brilliant speech of the Prime Minister of Pakistan has given strength to the overseas Pakistanis, confidence has increased and the overseas Pakistanis are jumping with joy.
