Mayor Carolyn Parrish welcomed Muhammad Wajahat Faizan and his family to Mississauga City Hall this week in recognition of his recent award — the prestigious King Charles III Coronation Medal. The visit was an opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue on key civic matters, and was joined by Councillor Joe Horneck.
Faizan, a respected lawyer and community advocate, was recognized for his outstanding service to the community and his contributions to civic life in Canada. During the meeting, the group discussed a wide range of topics, including strategies to mitigate property tax increases, promote civic engagement, and strengthen local governance.
Mayor Parrish commended Faizan for his leadership and dedication, noting, “It was a very pleasant visit. Mr. Faizan’s recognition with the King Charles III Coronation Medal is a testament to his ongoing efforts to serve his community and champion important causes.”
The visit was also attended by several distinguished guests, including:
• Mrs. Nighat Rafi, Advocate (Pakistan) and mother of Muhammad Wajahat Faizan
• Mr. Alam Ansari, SAP Consultant
• Mr. M. Javeed, Director of IT, York University
• Mrs. Ghosia Javeed
• Mrs. Maryam Faizan, Manager, Peel District School Board
• Dr. Momina Fahad
