Flash Floods in Babusar Top Claim 3 Lives, 15 Missing; Rescue Operations Underway

Gilgit-Baltistan:  A sudden flash flood struck the Babusar Top area, causing widespread destruction and leaving three tourists dead and at least 15 others missing. The disaster swept away eight vehicles carrying tourists, with four individuals rescued in injured condition and rushed to nearby hospitals. One of the injured is reported to be in critical condition.

The floodwaters severely damaged roads and agricultural land, disrupting travel and cutting off communication due to broken fiber optic lines. Hundreds of tourists remain stranded, with many unable to contact their families. Local residents have stepped in to provide shelter, while rescue teams, under directives from the Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister, are working tirelessly to locate the missing and clear blocked routes.
