Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, held a special meeting yesterday with Chairman of the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF), Syed Qamar Raza, and Managing Director OPF, Afzal Bhatti.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister was briefed about various overseas events held to celebrate Pakistan’s recent achievements. The OPF officials highlighted the deep affection and respect overseas Pakistanis hold for their homeland and its institutions. They emphasized that the government’s successful progressive policies have boosted the confidence of overseas Pakistanis, who continue to play a vital role in promoting Pakistan’s development and reputation at the global stage.
The Chairman and Managing Director also apprised the Prime Minister about the problems faced by overseas Pakistanis and shared suggestions for their resolution. They briefed him on ongoing governmental measures being taken to address these issues.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highly appreciated the performance of OPF and reaffirmed his government’s commitment to overseas Pakistanis. “Our brothers and sisters abroad are the country’s most valuable asset,” he said. “We will leave no stone unturned in solving their problems. Overseas Pakistanis live in our hearts because Pakistan lives in theirs.”
The Prime Minister further acknowledged the vital role of overseas Pakistanis in the international labor market, describing them as a loyal and strong workforce that has always stood by the nation in times of difficulty. He stressed that providing maximum facilities to Pakistanis abroad remains a top priority of his government.
