Mayor Adams commitment to Muslim community

Attia Shahnaz is a dedicated Muslim women liaison in CAU, advocating for the rights and representation of Muslim women and diverse communities. A passionate community activist for over 15 years, she has led a nonprofit women’s Organization focused on empowerment, support, and social justice. Before joining City Hall, she worked as a health care manager. Her unique blend of scientific expertise, grassroots activism, and public service enables her to drive meaningful change and uplift underrepresented communities in New York City. By profession, Shahnaz is an organic chemist. She has a master’s degree in organic chemistry and is a PhD scholar who completed her thesis on isolating organic compounds at Arizona University.

Attia Shahnaz earned enviable fame and remarkable respect in the Community and New York administration due to her vision dedication and hard work during the coronavirus pandemic. She came out with her crow and set up a Food pantry for hungry jobless and homeless people while the NY administration  was burying thousands of bodies in mass graves. She served the Community in difficult times and distributed millions of food bags to the hungry.

She was noticed during the New York Mayer Elections. Eric Adam got Muslims’ vote especially the Pakistani American Community supported him due to the aggressive campaign of Attia Shahnaz.
Mayer Adam picked Shahnaz as his Aide and she was working as Mayer’s Special Assistant in New York City.
She was victimized by some strollers and they ran negative campaigns against her and she faced all hardships within the community. Attia Shahnaz remains firm,  focused and stood by Eric Adam in his difficult times.

Mayer recently reshuffled his Cabinet and her name popped up as the most reliable and trustworthy Aid in the City Mayer just announced that Attia Shahnaz will continue her job with the Mayer Office.
It’s a great honor of the Pakistani American Community that Mayer Eric Adam picked her name twice in his Cabinet.

Attia Shahnaz also formed an NGO PASWO that works for the rights of minority women in New York City. She originally built community bonds, trained community women, and motivated them to come out of the closet. Attia is a successful woman par excellence, a model for the Pakistani American Community, serving honorably humanity. She disciplined herself and portrayed herself in the Muslim Tradition. She is politically very strong , intellectually honest and professionally sound.
