Pakistani-American Society Mourns Flood Victims, Pledges Aid for Pakistan

NEW YORK – The Pakistani-American Society (PAS-USA) has expressed profound grief and deep sorrow over the devastating floods in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province, which have resulted in hundreds of fatalities and washed away countless homes.

In a joint statement, key officials of PAS-USA, including President Shams uz Zaman, General Secretary Dr. Ashraf, Chief Coordinator Syed Asif, Senior Vice President Salman Butt, Vice President Shehzad Anwar, and New York President Qaiser Bhatta, offered their condolences for the massive loss of life and property.

Currently on a visit to Canada, President Shams uz Zaman spoke by phone with Pakistani officials, including Vice President Chaudhry Abdul Shakoor. He assured them of PAS-USA’s full cooperation in dealing with the emergency.

Upon his return from Canada, Mr. Zaman will call an emergency meeting of the society. This meeting will focus on formulating a comprehensive plan of action for relief efforts in Pakistan. The organization plans to work closely with the Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan and is preparing to send volunteers to assist in the affected areas.
