LONDON, ONTARIO — Liberal Party members and supporters gathered last weekend for the Southwestern Regional Summit 2025, an event that drew participation from Members of Parliament, candidates, and grassroots organizers across the region.
Among the attendees was Barrister Najam Naqvi, who joined party leaders and community members in a series of townhall-style meetings. The panels provided a platform to answer questions on Liberal Party policies, future plans, and key issues faced by Canadians today.
The summit also served as a networking opportunity, where leaders from different ridings connected to share strategies for strengthening voter engagement. A notable highlight came when several new Liberals introduced themselves, explaining they had previously supported other parties but chose to join Liberal Party after Mark Carney’s election as party leader.
The event’s final session was addressed by Ontario Liberal Party Leader Bonnie Crombie, who highlighted the party’s achievements and vision for improvement, encouraging members to carry forward the momentum with “enthusiasm and unity.”
Other prominent speakers included Qaisar Dar, President of the Ontario Liberal Party, as well as Hon. Arielle Kayabaga, MP for London West, and Peter Fragistokas, MP for London Center. Mike Morrison, National Policy Leader, delivered what many described as a “tremendous and inspiring” speech, emphasizing the need for policy-driven dialogue at the grassroots level.
The summit was organized under the leadership of Eddy Haddad, President of the Southwestern Region, whose efforts were praised for fostering a dynamic and energetic atmosphere.
Participants left the gathering with renewed optimism, calling for more regular regional summits to maintain the energy and strengthen connections among party members.
