Karachi – A significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed today between Pyramid Scope of Turkey and General Manager Syed Irshad Hussain IDEAS (International Defence Exhibition and Seminar), Pakistan’s premier defence exhibition platform, in collaboration with the Defence Export Promotion Organization (DEPO) of Pakistan.

The agreement, signed by the General Managers of both sides, focuses on deepening bilateral defence cooperation, particularly in the field of defence exports. It aims to bring major Western Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) onto the IDEAS platform, boost mutual trade, expand opportunities for joint exhibitions, and enhance outreach to international trade visitors.
Key highlights of the MoU include:

– Facilitating greater participation, branding, and sponsorship opportunities for global OEMs such as Lockheed Martin, Boeing, and others.
– Encouraging new entrepreneurs in the defence industry of both countries.
– Strengthening defence and trade ties between the two brotherly nations.
– Providing a gateway for Pakistan to access Western markets through Turkey’s established interest and presence in the West.
– Creating avenues for Western companies to showcase their capabilities at IDEAS 2026.

The forthcoming IDEAS exhibition, scheduled for November 2026 at the Karachi Expo Centre, is expected to serve as a major platform for defence trade, showcasing Pakistan’s military capabilities alongside its rich cultural diversity. This event will offer a unique opportunity for international exhibitors, defence industry stakeholders, and tourists to experience Pakistan’s strategic and cultural offerings at a single venue.
The Director General of IDEAS, along with key stakeholders, has been working closely with the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) to promote defence exports, increase trade, and boost tourism through this high-profile platform.

This MoU marks a major leap forward in Pakistan-Turkey strategic partnership and is expected to open new doors for collaboration in defence technology, joint ventures, and global market access. IDEAS 2026 is poised to become one of the most significant defence exhibitions in the region, attracting leading players from both Eastern and Western hemispheres.
