Pembroke Park, Florida. — Former President Bill Clinton made his first public campaign appearance of the 2026 election cycle Tuesday night, launching a high-profile endorsement of Democratic gubernatorial nominee David Jolly and his running mate, Gwen Graham.

Speaking to a crowd of roughly 500 attendees at an interfaith event at the Koinonia Worship Center in Broward County, Clinton predicted a victory for the Democratic ticket just two weeks ahead of Election Day. Jolly is currently facing Republican U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds in the race to succeed term-limited Gov. Ron DeSantis.

“David Jolly and Gwen Graham are in this race for what I believe are the right reasons,” Clinton told the crowd. “To give every Floridian—regardless of race, politics, religion, or any other factor—the chance to build a better life for themselves, their children, and our state. I think we ought to give David Jolly a chance.”

Much of Clinton’s address focused on Florida’s high cost of living, zeroing in on housing, rent, property insurance, and health care. He cited skyrocketing rents and insurance premiums as critical challenges facing everyday Floridians, criticizing current Republican leadership for projecting a rosy economic outlook while local families continue to struggle with basic bills.

Jolly, a former Republican congressman who overwhelmingly secured the Democratic nomination in August, addressed the crowd before Clinton’s arrival. Framing the upcoming election as a crucial turning point for Florida, Jolly argued that voters are actively seeking a shift in the state’s political climate.
The campaign stop drew a large coalition of prominent regional leaders and dignitaries from the South Florida Democratic Party. Notable attendees included:

• Nikki Fried, Florida Democratic Party Chairperson
• Debbie Wasserman Schultz, U.S. Representative
• Marie P. Woodson, State Representative
• Dan Daley, State Representative
• Christine Hunschofsky, State Representative
• Robin Bartleman, State Representative
• Alexandra Davis, Broward County Commissioner
• Angelo Castillo, Pembroke Pines Mayor.
