On the evening of September 13, 2025, the residence of Sulman Butt, Senior Vice President of the Pakistani American Society, radiated warmth and camaraderie as community members gathered for a heartfelt dinner honoring Dr. Ashraf Ch., who recently earned a PharmD degree. The event celebrated Dr. Ashraf’s remarkable contributions while fostering unity, hospitality, and optimism for the future.
The evening, filled with delicious food and meaningful connections, embodied the Sunnah of hospitality, as highlighted in the hadith of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him): “Inviting and accepting an invitation is a Sunnah, and this deed is a reward.” Sulman Butt’s generosity and warm hospitality earned heartfelt gratitude from all attendees, with special recognition extended to his esteemed father, a respected community figure, accompanied by prayers for his continued health.
Dr. Ashraf Ch., recently honored as a doctor, was celebrated for his significant contributions to Pakistan, including sending millions of rupees to support the nation. The gathering also served as a platform to rally support for Mr. Mamdani for the upcoming November 4 event, with attendees urging the community to vote. Shamas Zaman, a community activist, shared that his organization is collecting funds for flood victims in Pakistan through the Al Khidmat Foundation. He urged the Pakistani American community to support Pakistan during this time of crisis.
