APAG (Advocacy Group )came to notice during the Corona Pandemic . Ali Rashid set up food Pantry on road along with small group of Pakistani Americans including local PTI leadership and distributed hot food to different ethnic communities in New York. Soon after that we observed that Ali Rashid got involved in local politics and we saw him with New York Mayer and his administration.

Dramatically , his name was included in the most favorite personalities list designed by former Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi . After that the former Counsulate General Ms Aysha opened closed doors of Counsulate specially for him during the Pandemic and gave him Performance Award for his services . The local media said on this that Ali Rashid is the replacement of Dr Ijaz Ahmed who could not perform as desired .

Ali Rashid was officially launched was sent to Pakistan and we saw him sitting with high ranking Official including Foreign Minister and President of Pakistan. Ali Rashid Jumped into mainstream policies from food Pantry and became most influential individual from Pakistani American Community.

Ali Rashid recently met with Prime Minister of Pakistan and other dignitaries and again recognized as patriot Pakistani in US Community .
He also fell into our list of patriot Pakistanis and we decided to endorse his services to the Community and Country .

Marking a cultural milestone, APAG successfully co-named a street in Queens, New York, as “Allama Iqbal Avenue,” honoring Pakistan’s revered poet-philosopher. Spearheaded by Ali Rashid and endorsed by the City Council, the inauguration drew crowds, elected officials, and community leaders, celebrating the enduring legacy of Allama Iqbal in the heart of New York.

Pakistani Flag Flies High on Wall Street
On Pakistan’s 75th Independence Day, APAG orchestrated a historic moment by hoisting the Pakistani flag at New York’s iconic Financial District—a site symbolic of America’s own independence. The event, co-hosted with NYC Mayor Eric Adams and Consul General Aisha Ali, saw dignitaries like Assembly Members Jenifer Raj Kumar and Alex Cruz, alongside civic leaders, unite in a vibrant display of patriotism. Mayor Adams commended the diaspora’s dual commitment to their American homeland and Pakistani roots.

APAG achieved another breakthrough by passing a resolution in the New York State Assembly declaring February 5th as Kashmir Day—the first such recognition in U.S. history. The resolution underscores New York’s commitment to advocating for Kashmiri rights, including freedom of religion and expression. This monumental step, led by Ali Rashid’s team, amplifies global awareness of Kashmir’s plight and aligns with APAG’s mission to mobilize political support for human rights causes.

Ali Rashid reiterated APAG’s vision: “As Pakistani-Americans, we embrace the U.S. as our home while cherishing Pakistan as our heritage. Our duty is to excel here and uplift our motherland.” From street renaming’s to flag-raising ceremonies and advocacy milestones, APAG continues to carve a legacy of unity, pride, and proactive diplomacy—proving that cultural bridges can drive global change.
