A prominent Pakistani-American organization, PACOLI, organized a large and meaningful event under the title “Pakistan Resilience and World Peace,” bringing together leading figures, representatives of major organizations, and members of the Pakistani-American community. The gathering saw a significant turnout, including a notable presence of women, reflecting the community’s growing engagement and unity.

The speakers at the event praised Pakistan’s evolving role on the international stage, particularly highlighting its contributions toward mediation and peace efforts in global conflicts. They also offered collective prayers for Pakistan’s continued stability, prosperity, and strength. The event concluded on a vibrant note with a musical program, adding a cultural dimension to the evening.
Speaking at the occasion, Shahid Ranjha began by expressing heartfelt gratitude to all attendees for their presence. He welcomed the chief guest, Chaudhry Akram, and acknowledged the contributions of community members who made the event possible. He explained that the program was dedicated to two significant and meaningful objectives: promoting Pakistan’s message of global peace, which he described as a pressing necessity in today’s turbulent world, and paying tribute to the resilience, courage, and unwavering determination of the Pakistani nation. He emphasized that meaningful change begins within homes and communities and spreads outward to influence hearts and minds. He expressed confidence that through dialogue, thoughtful ideas, and emotional connection, the message of peace and resilience would be strengthened and carried forward.
Humayun Safdar Qureshi , in his address, thanked the audience and paid special tribute to distinguished guests, religious scholars, and community leaders, including Mufti Sahib, Naqvi Sahib, and Salman Sheikh , Rizwan Qureshi from HBA Bank USA, as well as members of the Pakistani community. He spoke candidly about past global narratives that portrayed Pakistan negatively, particularly accusations linking the country to terrorism and economic instability. However, he asserted that Pakistan, by the grace of Allah, has proven its strength and dignity on the global stage. Referring to recent geopolitical developments, he noted that the world is increasingly recognizing Pakistan’s role in facilitating ceasefires and diplomatic engagement, calling it a moment of pride for Pakistanis worldwide. He also shared insights into community-level unity, highlighting how differences among organizations were resolved through dialogue and cooperation. He announced that, after years of separation, major community groups have agreed to jointly organize the Independence Day celebration on August 16, marking a significant step toward unity. He praised Chaudhry Akram for his leadership in resolving longstanding issues and bringing different factions together, emphasizing that such leaders are essential for strengthening the community.

Aoun Naqvi , director Community Affairs Nassau County focused his remarks on Pakistan’s strategic and diplomatic significance. He stated that Pakistan has consistently prioritized peace and stability, particularly given its sensitive geographical location in a volatile region. He highlighted Pakistan’s historic role in mediating major global conflicts, including its involvement in addressing the Soviet-Afghan crisis, and emphasized that Pakistan continues to play a constructive and positive role in facilitating dialogue between nations such as Iran and the United States. He stressed that Pakistan’s contributions to global peace efforts are both significant and widely recognized, even if not always openly acknowledged.

Nassau County Executive Zahid Hussain who has been part of the community for more than three decades, shared personal reflections on leadership, mentorship, and the evolution of the Pakistani-American community. He spoke about his long association with Bashir Qamar, whom he considers a mentor, stating that he learned invaluable lessons from him. He recalled earlier days when community events were small and resources were limited, and compared them to the present, where large-scale, well-organized programs are regularly held. He credited strong organizers within the community for this transformation and noted that the community has expanded significantly over the years. As an Executive Director for Community Affairs, he highlighted his involvement in organizing events not only for Pakistani-Americans but also for other communities, including Spanish, African-American, and Asian groups, emphasizing inclusivity and service. He assured attendees that he remains available to support the community in any capacity.

Tasneem Kausar expressed gratitude to Allah for granting Pakistan the opportunity to play an important and influential role in current global developments. She emphasized the importance of unity, faith, and collective effort, stating that such gatherings are a reflection of positive progress and shared purpose within the community. She urged continued cooperation and دعا (prayer) for Pakistan’s success and stability.
Director PACOLI Atiq Qadri thanked attendees for their commitment, especially those who participated despite unfavorable weather conditions and personal engagements. He delivered an emotional message centered on patriotism and devotion to the homeland. Reflecting on childhood lessons that described Pakistan as the “fortress of Islam,” he stated that recent global developments have helped people better understand the depth and significance of that concept. Drawing from his professional experience, he observed that Pakistanis are increasingly being recognized and respected internationally, and he attributed this shift to the country’s resilience and the efforts of its people, government, and armed forces. He expressed gratitude to all Pakistanis around the world for contributing to the nation’s honor and standing.

Chief Guest Chaudhry Muhammad Akram Nassau County Executive concluded the speeches by expressing appreciation for the organizers, particularly acknowledging Bashir Sahib and his team for their cooperation and dedication. He highlighted the importance of unity within the community, noting that despite long-standing divisions, the community has now come together on a single platform, which he described as a major achievement. He shared his personal experiences of observing divisions within the community over the years and expressed satisfaction that collective efforts have finally led to reconciliation. He emphasized the need to involve the younger generation more actively, encouraging them to participate in community initiatives and leadership roles. He also appreciated the collaboration between different organizations, including Pak USA, and acknowledged the efforts of individuals such as Hamyyun Safder and Asif Malik in making unity possible. He concluded by expressing hope that with continued cooperation, the community will achieve even greater success and bring further honor to Pakistan.
The Chairman PACOLI , Bashir Qamar presented award certificates to PACOLI members for their Community service . He said that the PACOLI and PAC USA will observe 14th August Meela together and bring majority of people in event .

Overall, the event served as a powerful demonstration of unity, resilience, and shared purpose within the Pakistani-American community. It highlighted Pakistan’s growing role in global diplomacy and reinforced the importance of collaboration, both at the international level and within diaspora communities. The gathering not only celebrated Pakistan’s achievements but also strengthened bonds among community members, setting a positive tone for future initiatives.
