Prominent Pakistani-Canadian Lawyer and Queen’s University Faculty Member Muhammad Wajahat Faizan Awarded King Charles III Coronation Medal

Toronto, ON – April 8, 2025: Muhammad Wajahat Faizan, a respected barrister, solicitor, and faculty member at Queen’s University Faculty of Law, has been awarded the prestigious King Charles III Coronation Medal. The Honourable Rechie Valdez, Chief Government Whip, presented the honour on behalf of the Governor General of Canada, in recognition of Faizan’s outstanding contributions to the legal profession and public service.

The King Charles III Coronation Medal is a commemorative honour celebrating the contributions of Canadians who have made significant impacts in their communities and professions.

With over 15 years of international legal experience across Canada, the UK, and Pakistan, Faizan has built a reputation for excellence in immigration, real estate, and estate law. At Kormans LLP, where he serves as an Associate Lawyer, he provides strategic, culturally informed legal solutions to support diverse communities and families building new lives in Canada.

In addition to his legal practice, Faizan is a faculty member at Queen’s University Faculty of Law, where he mentors future legal professionals and contributes to academic work on immigration, Islamic wills, and property law. His leadership and service were previously recognized with the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Award in 2022—making him one of the few Pakistani-Canadian legal professionals to receive both honours from the Canadian Crown.

Originally from Multan, Pakistan, Faizan proudly represents the fourth generation of lawyers in his family, following in the footsteps of notable figures such as Molvi M. Faizan, Molvi Furqan, and Molvi Sultan Alam Ansari (former MPA/Judge).

“I thank Allah and my family for the support, this recognition reflects the invaluable mentorship and support I’ve received throughout my journey,” said Faizan. “I remain committed to advancing justice through culturally sensitive legal solutions and community-focused service.
