PAKISTAN’S DIPLOMATIC CHIEF MEETS RUSSIAN ENVOY AT UN; ACCUSES INDIA OF SABOTAGING KASHMIR PEACE

By Farooq Mirza, NEW YORK  Mr. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Head of Pakistan’s Diplomatic Mission to the United Nations, held a high-level meeting with Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, on Tuesday. The discussion focused on regional security and multilateral cooperation, though specifics of the dialogue remain undisclosed.

“Pakistan Chooses Restraint Amid Indian Intransigence”

Addressing regional tensions, Chairman Zardari asserted that despite India’s “uncompromising stance,” Pakistan had deliberately pursued a strategy of “de-escalation and peace-building” to avert large-scale conflict. “We refuse to be provoked into endangering regional stability,” he declared at a press briefing following the meeting.

Pakistan: “World’s Foremost Victim of Terrorism”

Zardari underscored Pakistan’s counterterrorism challenges, stating, “No nation has suffered more from terrorism than Pakistan.” He cited decades of attacks on civilians and security forces, urging the international community to recognize Pakistan’s sacrifices.

Direct Allegation: “India Sponsors Terrorism in Pakistan

In his sharpest remarks, the Chairman accused India of actively sponsoring cross-border terrorism. “Evidence confirms India’s involvement in financing, training, and facilitating terrorist activities on Pakistani soil,” Zardari claimed, calling for UN intervention to halt “state-sponsored destabilization.”

Kashmir Stalemate: “India Defies UN Resolutions

Zardari condemned India’s approach to the Kashmir dispute, alleging, “New Delhi systematically obstructs the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions that mandate a plebiscite.” He warned that India’s “unilateral actions” jeopardized South Asian peace.
