Pakistan Rejects India’s Alleged Water Blockade, Calls for Peaceful Resolution

Islamabad:  Bureau Chief  — Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned India’s alleged attempts to restrict Pakistan’s water supply, calling it an unacceptable move that will never succeed. Speaking at an event celebrating Azerbaijan’s National Day, he emphasized that water is the lifeline for 240 million Pakistanis and cannot be used as a political tool.

During his address, the Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace and diplomacy, stating that his country has always advocated for dialogue to resolve disputes, including the Kashmir issue. He expressed gratitude to Turkey and Azerbaijan for their unwavering support during recent tensions with India, highlighting the strong bond between the three nations based on shared values, culture, and history.

Sharif criticized India’s response to the Pahalgam incident, stating that Pakistan had offered an impartial investigation, which India rejected. He accused India of using the incident as a pretext for aggression, to which Pakistan responded firmly.

The Prime Minister praised Field Marshal Asim Munir for his leadership and reiterated Pakistan’s stance on resolving conflicts through negotiations. He stressed that Pakistan remains committed to eliminating terrorism and ensuring regional stability.

Sharif concluded by warning that Pakistan will not allow its water resources to be weaponized, urging international bodies to take notice of India’s actions. He called for a peaceful resolution to all disputes through diplomatic channels.
