Islamabad — Former senior officer of the Ministry of Information, Rao Tahsin Ali Khan, organized a grand luncheon to honor the newly elected officials of the All Pakistan Newspapers and Electronic Media Employees Confederation (APNEC). The event was attended by APNEC’s central and provincial office-bearers, senior journalists, and prominent figures from media organizations.

Addressing the gathering, Rao Tahsin Ali Khan commended APNEC’s efforts in safeguarding the rights and welfare of media employees. He stated that under the leadership of Chairman Siddiq Inzar, APNEC has swiftly gained the trust of media workers through its organizational efficiency and effective representation—a significant achievement in a short span.
He emphasized that the current era poses unprecedented challenges for media employees, including economic pressures, editorial independence, and job security. “The role of unions has become more crucial than ever,” he said. Rao Tahsin urged organizations like APNEC to adopt timely planning and collective strategies in line with evolving circumstances to robustly defend the interests of those in the media.
Furthermore, he stressed the need for APNEC to strengthen its bridge-building role between the government and media institutions, advocating for greater transparency in policies and resolution of working journalists’ issues.
APNEC Central Chairman Muhammad Siddiq Inzar and other leaders expressed gratitude to Rao Tahsin Ali Khan, describing his guidance and encouragement as a source of pride for media employees. They reaffirmed their commitment to continue the struggle for protecting the rights of journalists and media workers across the country.
