Pakistan Forces Shoot Down 12 Indian Drones After Airspace Violation

Rawalpindi, May 8 – Pakistani military forces responded decisively to yet another attempted incursion by Indian drones, shooting down 12 unmanned aircraft in various regions, the military’s media wing confirmed on Tuesday.

According to Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Indian forces violated Pakistan’s airspace late Monday night, targeting multiple areas with drone operations. The aggressive move resulted in one civilian martyrdom and injuries to four Pakistan Army soldiers near Lahore, along with another civilian injured in Mayanosindh.

The Pakistan Army swiftly intercepted and neutralized the threat, downing Indian drones in Lahore, Gujranwala, Bahawalpur, Karachi, Chakwal, Attock, Rawalpindi, Chhor, and Mianwali. Debris from the destroyed drones has been recovered for further investigation.

Lt. Gen. Chaudhry condemned India’s repeated violations of international law, emphasizing that such provocations not only endanger regional stability but also deliberately target civilian populations and religious sites. He urged the international community to take notice of India’s reckless actions, which continue to escalate tensions.

The DG ISPR reaffirmed Pakistan’s readiness to defend its sovereignty, warning that any further aggression would be met with an even stronger response. Investigations into the incident are ongoing, with evidence being compiled for presentation before global forums.

This latest breach follows a pattern of heightened hostilities along the Line of Control, with Pakistan consistently calling for restraint while maintaining its right to self-defense. Authorities remain on high alert as the situation develops.
