The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has reappointed prominent business leader Malik Sohail Hussain (commonly referred to as Mr. Sohail Malik) as Chairman Coordination, FPCCI Capital Office, and Chairman, Pakistan–US Business Council for the year 2026.

The decision was announced by FPCCI President Mr. Atif Ikram Sheikh, who expressed strong confidence in Mr. Malik’s professional capabilities, unwavering dedication, and proven leadership. This reappointment recognizes Mr. Malik’s outstanding performance and pivotal role over the past two years in strengthening institutional linkages, facilitating effective coordination, and significantly enhancing bilateral trade engagement between Pakistan and the United States.

Mr. Malik formally received the official notification of his reappointments from President Atif Ikram Sheikh in a ceremony held at the FPCCI Capital Office in Islamabad. The occasion was attended by key figures, including Mr. Karim Aziz Malik, Chairman of the FPCCI Capital Office, and Mr. Zahid Maqbool, Former President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI). Their presence underscored the broad support within the business community for Mr. Malik’s continued leadership in these strategic roles.

Under Mr. Malik’s stewardship, the FPCCI Capital Office has played a central coordinating function for business activities in the federal capital, while the Pakistan–US Business Council has worked to deepen economic ties, promote investment opportunities, and foster stronger commercial relations with the United States. His efforts have contributed to high-level engagements, including interactions with U.S. business councils, diplomatic channels, and initiatives aimed at boosting sectors such as trade, investment, and bilateral economic cooperation.

FPCCI leadership, led by President Atif Ikram Sheikh, reiterated full confidence that Mr. Malik will build on his previous achievements to further improve coordination mechanisms across chambers and stakeholders. They emphasized his ongoing contributions toward advancing Pakistan–US business relations, particularly in an era where enhanced private-sector diplomacy and trade linkages are vital for economic growth, export promotion, and attracting foreign investment.

Mr. Malik’s reappointment aligns with FPCCI’s broader agenda to strengthen institutional frameworks, support regional business hubs like Islamabad, and champion Pakistan’s interests on international platforms. His dual role positions him to continue bridging gaps between policymakers, diplomats, and the private sector, ultimately driving forward the federation’s vision for a more robust and globally competitive Pakistani economy.

This development has been welcomed by business circles in the capital, who view it as a testament to sustained leadership in critical areas of national economic outreach.
