Hamid Ali Wahla Calls for Dignified Coexistence and Peace Amid Escalating US-Israel-Iran War: “Peace is Best”

The world today is passing through an extremely delicate and critical phase. The growing tensions among Iran, the United States, and Israel have placed global peace under serious threat. In this atmosphere of confrontation, it is also evident that a significant segment of the American public itself does not favor a devastating war with Iran.

It is therefore essential that all nations and global powers choose the path of dignified coexistence. In the architecture of international order, mutual respect and strategic balance remain the only sustainable foundations for long-term peace.

History bears witness that Israel has repeatedly attempted to undermine and humiliate other nations. Yet history also teaches a timeless lesson: nations that seek to disgrace others often end up facing humiliation themselves. The law of nature is clear — no nation’s condition changes unless it seeks change within itself.

The great philosopher-poet Muhammad Iqbal beautifully captured the spirit of resilience and hope:

“Iqbal is not hopeless of his barren field,
If only a little moisture arrives, this soil is immensely fertile.”

In another verse he described the transformative power of devotion:

“With the strength of love, raise every fallen soul,
Illuminate the world with the name of Muhammad (ﷺ).”

Throughout history, many nations have exploited others and attempted to seize their resources and territories. Such actors are remembered not as leaders but as oppressors and usurpers. Yet there is an eternal truth: the justice of God operates silently but inevitably.

The Creator loves His creation deeply. The Holy Qur’an clearly states that whoever unjustly kills a single human being, it is as if he has killed all of humanity. Therefore, the destruction of war, the killing of innocent people, and the devastation of societies are crimes not only against nations but against humanity itself.

The world must acknowledge a fundamental reality: war is never a solution to problems. Wars do not resolve conflicts; they intensify them and leave deeper scars for generations. Particularly in the Middle East, nations must remember a principle deeply rooted in Islamic teaching — the Muslim Ummah is like one body; when one part suffers, the entire body feels the pain.

Pakistan has consistently demonstrated solidarity with the Muslim world. The armed forces of Pakistan have historically played a constructive and stabilizing role in supporting friendly nations and strengthening collective security. The aspiration has always been that Muslim nations stand united in the protection of their sacred lands and shared heritage.

Again, Allama Iqbal envisioned this unity with remarkable clarity:

“Let Muslims become one to guard the sacred sanctuary,
From the banks of the Nile to the lands of Kashgar.”

Global challenges cannot be solved through military aggression but through dialogue, justice, and mutual respect. The occupation of another nation’s land, the plundering of resources, or the denial of a people’s rights finds no legitimacy in any religion. All faiths emphasize justice, human dignity, and respect for the rights of others.

International law also affirms this principle: no state has the right to forcibly seize the territory or resources of another.

In the present climate of escalating tensions, it is humanity that suffers the most. Reports suggest that the recent confrontations and attacks have already resulted in the deaths of dozens of officials and hundreds of civilians. The world must ask itself a moral question: who will take responsibility for such human tragedies?

God loves His creation, and every religion condemns injustice and the killing of innocent people. Especially during the sacred month of Ramadan, the global community should move toward reconciliation, peace, and justice rather than confrontation.

The Qur’an reminds humanity of its dignity:

“Laqad khalaqnal-insāna fī ahsani taqwīm.”

“Indeed, We created mankind in the best of forms.”

Human beings are the noblest of creation. Therefore, oppression, injustice, and the unjust killing of human life represent grave moral crimes. The stability of the world depends upon respect for borders, protection of rights, and the consistent application of justice. When decisions are imposed through brute force, the result is only hatred, distrust, and destruction.

Today humanity finds itself suffocating in a climate of geopolitical tension. Billions of lives are indirectly affected by the fear and uncertainty generated by wars. This is why global powers must recognize their responsibility and pursue policies that lead the world toward stability rather than confrontation.

All religions ultimately teach compassion, welfare, and peace. Islam, in particular, emphasizes restraint and justice. The Qur’an and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ repeatedly instruct believers not to desire war. However, if war is imposed upon them, they must stand firm and defend themselves with dignity.

Therefore, every nation must resolve its disputes through law, dialogue, and mutual respect. The belief that power alone can subjugate others is a dangerous illusion. Absolute power belongs only to God. History is filled with examples of mighty tyrants and arrogant rulers who eventually fell into decline.

True and lasting peace in the world can only exist when nations respect one another’s rights, protect sovereignty, and abandon the desire to dominate others’ resources and territories. If such destructive thinking persists, humanity will face more wars and deeper suffering.

Our prayer is that the world chooses peace over conflict, justice over aggression, and unity over division. May humanity live with dignity, fairness, and tranquility.

This is the message of Islam.
This is also the shared message of all religions.

Peace is the best path.
Peace is best.
Peace is best.
Peace is best.
