Pennsylvania, USA – Syed Sarwar Chishti, a well-known hereditary caretaker (Khadim) and secretary of the Anjuman Syed Zadgan at the revered Dargah Sharif of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti (Gharib Nawaz) in Ajmer, India, paid a spiritual visit to a Sufi shrine in Pennsylvania dedicated to Hassan Baba Mohiuddin Rehmatullah Alaih.
Speaking from the site, located approximately 150 miles from New York City, Chishti Sahib shared heartfelt reflections on the legacy of the late Sufi saint, who arrived from Sri Lanka in 1971 without knowledge of the local language yet profoundly impacted the region.
“Despite not knowing the language of this place, he converted the entire area and brought all the foreigners to Islam,” Chishti said. “A township is also being developed here. Today, Islam is the fastest-growing religion in the USA, and this has happened through Sufism – a message of peace, love towards creation, and love towards mankind.”

The shrine, known as the Mazar-e-Mubarak of Baba Hassan Khawaja Mohiuddin Chishti Rehmatullah Alaih, continues to attract numerous devotees, even as severe winter weather sets in. Chishti noted that many pilgrims were arriving despite the harsh conditions, and prayers were scheduled for Maghrib time at the holy site.
Chishti, who introduced himself with his full spiritual titles including Gati Nashin and Nassan-e-Aliya, is currently in the United States and plans to spend one more week in New York before returning to India. He shared his WhatsApp contact (+91 8769938878) for those seeking connection or blessings.
Concluding his message with prayers, he said, “May Allah bless all of us.”
Syed Sarwar Chishti has previously been in the news for defending communal harmony in India, particularly regarding the Ajmer Sharif Dargah. His visit underscores the global reach of the Chishti Sufi order, emphasizing its timeless emphasis on universal love and peace.
