Gilgit Baltistan: Unofficial and non-final results from the fourth general elections of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly continue to emerge as counting progresses across all constituencies.
According to the latest unofficial results, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has secured multiple victories in Skardu, winning four key seats. PPP candidates Syed Taqeer Mehdi Shah (GB-7 Skardu) and Raja Nasir Ali Khan (GB-10 Skardu) have been declared successful.
In Kharmang, PPP’s Iqbal Hassan has also secured victory in GB-11, while in Nagar-1 (GB-A-4), Ali Akhtar has won his seat. Meanwhile, one seat has been won by independent candidate Asad Shafiq. In GB-A-22 Ghanche-1, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Muhammad Ibrahim Thanei has been declared successful.
Polling was held across 24 constituencies of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly, where 396 candidates contested. After the conclusion of polling, results from various polling stations have been continuously received.
Initial trends show PPP leading on around six seats, with strong performance in Gilgit, Nagar, Skardu, and Shigar. Independent candidates are currently ahead in five seats across Ghanche, Ghizer, and Diamer, while PML-N candidates are leading in three constituencies in Gilgit, Ghizer, and Ghanche.
In GB-A-24 Ghanche-3, independent candidate Asad Shafiq has secured a decisive victory by winning all 46 polling stations, obtaining 8,092 votes, while PPP’s Muhammad Ismail finished second with 5,072 votes.
In GB-A-1 Gilgit-1, PPP’s Amjad Hussain leads with 3,600 votes from 28 polling stations, followed by PML-N’s Muhammad Shafiq-ud-Din with 2,300 votes.
In GB-A-2 Gilgit-2, PML-N’s Hafeezur Rehman is leading with 4,129 votes, while PPP’s Jameel Ahmed is in second place.
In GB-A-3 Gilgit-3, PML-N’s Muhammad Iqbal is leading with 5,000 votes, followed by independent candidate Syed Sohail Abbas with 3,867 votes.
In GB-A-4 Nagar-1, PPP’s Muhammad Ali Akhtar leads with 7,530 votes, while Islamic Tehreek Pakistan’s Muhammad Ayub Wazir is in second position.
In GB-A-6 Hunza, independent candidate Nek Nam Karim is leading, while PPP’s Imtiaz-ul-Haq remains in second place.
In GB-A-7 Skardu-1, PPP’s Syed Taqeer Mehdi has won the seat with 4,337 votes, defeating his closest rival from the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party.
In GB-A-8 Skardu-2, PPP’s Syed Muhammad Ali Shah is leading with 6,190 votes.
In GB-A-12 Shigar, PPP’s Imran Nadeem is ahead with 6,367 votes, while in GB-A-13 Astore-1, PML-N’s Rana Farman Ali leads a closely contested race.
In GB-A-14 Astore-2, PML-N’s Rana Muhammad Farooq is leading by a narrow margin.
In Diamer, Ghizer, and other constituencies, independent candidates are showing strong performance and leading in several seats.
Overall, the unofficial results indicate a tightly contested election, with no clear majority as counting continues across Gilgit-Baltistan.
