Pakistan Proposes Zero-Tariff Trade Agreement with the US
In a major economic move, Pakistan has offered the United States a zero-tariff bilateral trade deal to strengthen trade relations between the two nations. Government sources reveal that Islamabad has proposed a tariff-free agreement on mutually beneficial trade sectors to expand commerce.
This development follows recent tensions between Pakistan and India, where US President Donald Trump mediated a ceasefire agreement. After the truce, Trump praised both countries’ leadership and expressed optimism about increased trade with Pakistan and India.
Earlier, Trump’s imposition of retaliatory tariffs on India had caused global market fluctuations. However, the US later paused these tariffs for 90 days, opening doors for trade negotiations. Pakistan’s zero-tariff proposal could mark a new chapter in US-Pakistan economic relations, fostering growth and stability.
