London – The third annual convention of the Pakistan British Business Forum (PBBF) was held in London with great enthusiasm, where speakers highlighted Allama Iqbal’s philosophy of Khudi (selfhood) and self-awareness as the true foundation of national awakening and progress.
Prominent journalist Waqar Malik, addressing the gathering, said that Allama Iqbal gifted the youth of Pakistan with a vision that enables them to reach new heights of success and development. Quoting Iqbal, he said:
“The destiny of nations lies in the hands of individuals,
Every individual is a star in the nation’s destiny.”
Waqar Malik added that this very philosophy is reflected today in the vision of General Asim Munir, who aims to build a strong, disciplined, and ideologically united nation. “The Battle for Truth is not merely a military operation,” he said, “but a testimony of righteousness against falsehood. The concept of Bunyan-e-Marsous symbolizes an unbreakable unity — a nation that stands firm and undivided.”
He remarked that despite political and economic challenges, Pakistan is re-emerging on the world map with dignity and confidence. “A new spirit runs through the air of Pakistan — the spirit of sincerity, determination, and truth that strengthens our national character,” he added.
The gathering also echoed with slogans in support of the Government of Pakistan and General Asim Munir.
PBBF Vice President Muhammad Sajjad Chaudhry said the day held special significance for the Forum, as it was founded in line with the guiding principles of Allama Iqbal and Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He praised Chairman Qaiser Chichi for uniting the youth under one banner and steering the Forum toward meaningful objectives, leading to remarkable achievements. Today, he noted, the Forum operates successfully across several cities in the UK and continues to grow.
Councillor Liaqat Ali MBE and Lord Qurban Hussain emphasized that the young generation must understand and embody the ideals of Iqbal and Jinnah. They said success in the UK requires adherence to British laws, hard work, and a positive mindset. They also underlined the need for constructive platforms that highlight Pakistan’s identity and address the Kashmir issue, describing it as a fundamental human rights matter requiring urgent resolution.
Speakers praised the efforts of PIA and the Pakistan High Commission, particularly PIA Country Manager Nadia Gul, for her commendable role in restoring direct flights between the UK and Pakistan after a gap of five years.
Prominent community figures Khurram Shahzad Nazar Lodhi and businessman Bobby appreciated the Forum’s efforts in guiding young Pakistanis towards business and entrepreneurship, crediting Chairman Qaiser Chichi for his leadership and vision. Both Qaiser and Munawar Chichi stated that their mission was to steer youth away from negative influences and towards productive business ventures, enhancing Pakistan’s global reputation.
The event was presided over by noted businessman Mian Maqbool Ahmed, who lauded High Commissioner Dr. Muhammad Faisal for elevating Pakistan’s image on the international stage.
Habibullah, Political Secretary at the Pakistan High Commission, read a special message from Dr. Faisal, in which the High Commissioner appreciated the Forum’s efforts in mobilizing the youth and promoting Pakistan’s national interests.
He said Pakistan is now on a new path of growth and renewal. “Dreams that were once aspirations are now becoming reality. Foreign reserves are increasing, business opportunities are expanding, and the light of confidence has returned to the faces of our people. Pakistan is moving steadily toward development, stability, and global recognition.”
The ceremony concluded with the celebration of President Munawar Chichi’s birthday, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony. Waqar Malik paid tribute to OPF Managing Director Afzal Bhatti, High Commissioner Dr. Faisal, and PIA Country Manager Nadia Gul for their dedicated efforts that made the resumption of PIA flights possible — enabling Pakistanis to once again travel directly to their homeland.
