Brooklyn Community Honors Pakistan’s Martyrs at Pakistan Day Event

New York, Brooklyn: The first Pakistan Day program was held in Little Pakistan, Brooklyn, organized by Pak American Society and the local community. The event paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for Pakistan’s stability.

Deputy Consul General of Pakistan in New York, Mr. Mohammad Umar, presided over the program. Salman Butt, President of the Pakistan American Society and a prominent community leader, served as the Guest of Honor. Shams Zaman, Chairman of the Pakistan American Society, was the Special Guest.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from a large number of young people, children, and women. A notable feature was the opportunity given to female students from American colleges and universities to express their love for Pakistan.

Community leader Baba Mushtaq addressed the gathering, stating, “Pakistan’s core objective was the establishment of a welfare state. Today, we pay tribute to the Pakistan Armed Forces for maintaining collective stability.” Chairman Shams Zaman remarked, “We owe a debt to Quaid-e-Azam [Muhammad Ali Jinnah] and are the embodiment of Allama Iqbal’s dream.”

Farooq Mirza, President of Fourth Pillar, emphasized civic responsibility: “Shaping Pakistan’s image is our duty.” The event resonated with patriotic slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad” (Long Live Pakistan).

Deputy Consul General Mohammad Umar highlighted the diaspora’s value, stating, “Overseas Pakistanis are our asset, and today they are expressing their dedication on the occasion of Pakistan Day.”

The program was hosted by Ashraf Chohaidhry, with Shahzad Anwar acting as the stage host. The atmosphere was energized by renowned community musician Master Boota Shair, who set the rhythm with traditional Dhol drumming.
